The Gulf of Mexico at Cedar Key is a pleasant 30-minute drive, featuring fine restaurants, shops, and a famous yearly Art Festival.  The Atlantic Ocean at Daytona and St Augustine is under 2 hours away.

Manatee Springs, the gem of the Suwanee Valley, is just 6 miles west of Strawberry Fields. It has been a gathering place for thousands of years. The boardwalk along the spring also runs through the Cypress Swamp and out to a covered dock pavilion at the old Suwannee River.

For bike enthusiasts, enjoy the beautiful scenery with broad areas of ranches, cropland, and nature. On your ride, swing by downtown Chiefland and try sweet local watermelons.

Gainesville is an easy half-hour drive to the east and is home to the University of Florida. Gainesville offers a convenient regional airport, major hospitals, movie theaters, big-name restaurants, department stores, and Florida Gator’s sporting events.
